About the Project

Myanmar is facing the worst flood crisis in a hundred year and hundreds of flood disaster victims are still surviving without the access to disaster relief aids. Since the warnings were not issued in timely and proactive manner, the dreadful devastation of the flood has taken lives of many young children and people. Despite the official figure of 27 dead, the actual dead tolls is significantly more than that.

With its limited resources and bureaucracy, the government and major NGOs are helping but not even close enough. Thus, the grass root youth organizations and societies are filling the wide gap in reaching out to the remote areas in immediate manner. When we have widespread national natural disaster in Myanmar (like Cyclone Nargis which caused over a hundred thousand people due to lack of proactive warning and immediate cry for help), the grass root youth societies are the one who would go beyond the line of Self to help the people who are stranded in remote places without access to clean drinking water, food, or any help from the outside world.

With social networks on the ground and use of social media (the evidence photos of primary school kids from Pazun Phay village ,Myuk Oo Town were shared by Rakhine based grass root youth society who were rescuing the villagers stranded in remote areas in Rakhine), the grass root youth societies are reaching out to the people who need immediate help with a sense of responsibilities.

We, Myanmar youth, cry for help to international families to help the people who lost their little kids, loved ones, a place they called home, and still struggling to keep their breaths.

Use of Fund
All the money from this crowdfunding campaign will go directly to the grass root volunteer societies who are reaching out to the remote areas.

Reporting
Our collected funds and use of funds will be shared in detailed spreadsheets with the international donor families via personal email and social media page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/SaveMyanmar/650735021730674).
The help, the hope and love that you give to people who desperately need them will be shared via personal email and social media page. The social impact measurement of how you helped them will be released with both in data and stories.
